One of the hardest parts of faith is trusting God when life does not make sense. In John 13, Peter could not understand why Jesus, his Lord and Teacher, was washing his feet. Peter saw an action that confused him, but Jesus saw a purpose Peter would understand later. Sometimes we experience life the same way. We see the closed door, the unexpected ending, the delay, or the change of direction, but we cannot yet see how it fits into the larger picture.
Do not let what you do not understand today cause you to lose faith in what God is doing. Some answers only become clear after you have walked farther down the road. There will be moments when you look back and finally understand why certain doors closed, why certain people left, why you had to wait, and why God led you differently than you expected. What feels confusing now may eventually become part of your testimony.
God is saying to you today:
“You do not understand everything I am doing right now, but keep trusting Me. There are pieces of your story you cannot connect yet. You have questioned the delay, the closed door, the unexpected change, and the season that did not go according to your plans. But I can see what you cannot see. I know what is ahead, and I know what I am preparing you for. Do not judge the entire story by the chapter you are living in today. Keep walking with Me. In time, some of the things that once made you ask ‘Why?’ will make you say, ‘Now I understand.’”
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me trust You when I cannot understand what You are doing. Give me peace with the unanswered questions and patience in the places that are still unfolding. Keep me from becoming discouraged when life does not go according to my plans. Lead me one step at a time and remind me that You can see what I cannot. I trust You with what I understand and with what I do not. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
