When God called Abraham, He did not simply promise to bless him. He told Abraham that his life would become a blessing to others. That teaches us something important about God’s favor. God does not bless us simply so we can have more, He blesses us so we can do more with what He places in our hands. The opportunity, influence, wisdom, resources, and open doors God gives you can become a way of helping somebody else. Do not become discouraged because your life does not look like the promise yet. Abraham received the promise before he saw its fulfillment. There was still a journey ahead of him. Keep obeying God, keep growing, and keep preparing. What God develops in you today could become the very thing He uses to bless generations tomorrow.
God is saying to you today:
“My child, I did not bring you this far without purpose. There are blessings I want to bring into your life, but remember that My blessings are bigger than you. I want your life to become evidence of what happens when someone trusts Me, follows Me, and allows Me to use what I place in their hands. Do not despise where you are because it does not look like where you are going. Abraham had to leave what was familiar before he stepped into what I had promised. There will be seasons when I ask you to move forward without showing you every detail. Trust Me anyway. I am developing your character, enlarging your capacity, and preparing you to handle what is ahead. When I increase you, remember those you can lift. When I open doors for you, remember that your testimony can give somebody else hope. I am blessing you so that your life can become a blessing.”
Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for every blessing You have already placed in my life and for every promise I am still believing You to fulfill. Give me the faith of Abraham to follow You even when I cannot see the entire journey. Prepare me for the opportunities, responsibilities, and resources You entrust to me. Bless the work of my hands and give me wisdom to use what You provide well. Keep my heart humble as You increase me. Let my success help others, my testimony encourage others, and my blessings become an answer to someone else’s prayer. I do not want to simply receive from You, I want my life to become a blessing wherever You send me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
